About

Climate Reconstruction

The primary purpose of this blog is to share my techniques and results on reconstructing the past near-surface air temperatures of various places on the planet. As a novice at climate reconstruction I’m hoping to learn from questions and comments posted by readers.

Weather-related Renewable Electricity Generation

A secondary purpose of this blog is to store and present analysis results on the key characteristics of weather-related renewable electricity generation, mainly wind and hydro-electric. I aspire to present information that would be useful to an electricity systems engineer or analyst, and to avoid advocacy either for or against renewable electricity.

Reader participation is most welcome, but please be civil and on-topic.

I have a first degree in physics, a PhD and 6 years of postdoctoral research experience in theoretical elementary particle physics, 10 papers published in that subject, and 30 years experience in signal processing algorithms, mostly for sonar systems, but also some in seismic data processing in the oil exploration industry.
